It’s an international night! Find out what youth on two continents are looking for in messaging for climate restoration, and how we might best help build a youth climate restoration movement.
Our presenters will be Ashley Meeky (USA) and Ezekiel Nyanfor (Liberia).
Ashley’s the youngest member of our Board. A senior at Vanderbilt University, she’s completing her Capstone project with F4CR – and turning into a TikTok pro! In high school, she was the driving force behind the Climate Restoration Youth Leadership Program. She’ll share what she’s learned from these experiences and her thoughts on building a youth constituency for climate restoration. She’ll also show some of her clever, creative TikTok videos – sure to be a highlight.
Ezekiel got his start in climate restoration through Ashley and F4CR’s Youth Leadership Program! He took the training and ran with it, founding Liberian Youth for Climate Actions. Today he lobbies for climate policy and coordinates a number of international climate coalitions. He helped developed an climate advocacy toolkit now in use in eight countries and represents youth at the big climate conferences. Ezekiel will talk about the concerns of young urban and rural West Africans, and how he’s building a movement there.
Be sure to invite the young people in your life! Even if you haven’t managed to recruit them to other F4CR events, our two young activist presenters are sure to inspire them. We would also love to hear younger voices from the audience – their concerns and questions for Ashley and Ezekiel.
